Dry Island
Dry Island has a quite unique situation amid the superb
scenery of Badachro Bay on Scotland’s
magnificent West Coast.
Badachro Bay was once the haunt of Viking Longships but is now
a haven for a more modern type of sailing vessel.
This is a privately owned island, where the only other inhabitants
are the owners themselves, who have fished these waters for generations.
It is accessible at all times by a substantial floating bridge
or on foot at low tide. You leave your car and your worries behind
on the mainland (private car park) and prepare to relax amid your
tranquil and beautiful surroundings.
Recommended in the Rough Guide 2006.
